When I took this video I saw a monkey being sitting on the roof of that temple. When I focused my camera on that monkey, on seeing me it became to come towards me.

Soon I turn the camera and focused to other place.

This Kolu Amman is called Arulmigu Mahishasamarthini. 

Goddess take nine incarnations(Avedharangal) and destroys the Demons and Giants of Nine thinking like our bad thinks of Arrogance, Angry, Greed, Ahangaram. According to destroying the nine bad thinking by GoddessAmman, we celebrate this festival as Navrathri Kolu.

This is hindu festival which is celebrated in all over India.    

This is said to that a demone named Mahishasuran was killed by Amman. So this Goddess called Mahishasamarthini. 

This temple located at Srivilliputtur-626125, Virughunagar district, Tamilnadu, India. That is 70kms south side from Madurai.We can travel to this place by car,bus and train.

Naverathri Kolu Pooja was celebrated as 5th day pooja on Sunday (07-10-2018) in Arul Migu Mariamman temple at Srivilliputtur. This Naverathri Kolu festival is celebrated for 9 days in October(in Purattasi tamil) month for every year in this temple. This is 9(Nine) Goddess Amman festival.

And other importanat Sanadhies of God and Goddess are Sri Vinayagar, Sri Dhakshnamoorthi, Sri Subramaniyar with Valli and Dheivayanai, Sri Lingothpower, Saraswathi Amman, Manonmaniamman, Joorathever, Sri Natarajor, Saneeshwarar, Sri KalaBhairawar, Arulmigu  GazaLashmiamman, Sri Sandikaswarar, Sandikaswaraamman, 63 Nayanmars, Athikara Nandheeswarar, Veerapathirar and Navakirahangal.

Mulaikottu festival in Srivilliputtur had been celebrated well for two days 4th and 5th July(Tuesday and Wednesday) For this festival textile shops announced rebate for sale. People of five streets(Mariamman koil street, Mayandipatti street, Keelaseventhipatti street, Ooranipatti street, Mudhaliyar(Therkku)patti street ) in Srivilliputtur, celebrated this festival. Goddess MuthurakkuAmman Samy had been in Chariot(sapparam) in all the street. 

About Mulaikattu







There are nine kind of grams and millets had been grown by people in the pots before seven days of the festival. And then at the festival day after worshipping Goddess Mariamman, Muthurakkamman and Pattatharasiamman they carry the pots at the outer place of Srivilliputtur and put that away in a well.

Kali Amman ratham was coming among them to Patathu Amman temple.

Bhathrakaiamman are being existed in the  temple. Bhathrakaliamman is the head of the all God. So this temple is called as Bhathrakaliamman temple.
